Much of history is not taught in today’s classrooms, or is covered or cleaned up. As a lover of history, I decided to design a poster campaign to bring to light some events throughout North American history that I felt were most important and most easily recognized. I attempted to emulate the style of early 20th century European propaganda poster art with bold colors and minimal elements meant to cause the audience to question and investigate further into the subject matter. The colors are muted and make subtle use of gradients to accent the sharp linework of the illustrations. A bright and bold serif font was used to demand attention from a distance and deliver the message quickly and hard-hitting.
